Volunteering at Walton
Statistics have shown that the more involved parents are in their students’ education, the greater success students will achieve. We invite our parents and other family members to volunteer at our school. Our volunteers are asked to report to the office upon entering the building. They sign in the Volunteer Log, are given a volunteer pass and may then proceed to their student’s classroom. The volunteer activities include, but are not limited to, reading, one-on-one testing, class projects and other things needing assistance from the teachers for the students.
Parent Committees
We are in the process of reorganizing our parent committees and are looking forward to a very successful year in partnership with our parents. The committees are The Parent/Teacher Organization, Booster Club, School Leadership Team, Moral Focus Committee, Library, Building and Grounds and Technology. Some of our committee meetings are held in our parent room. It provides a relaxing, warm and friendly atmosphere for conducting school-related business. Our parent room is our parents’ “home away from home.” It is a room that is exclusively designed to make our parents feel comfortable and welcome while socializing with one another or working on school-related activities. It is one of the places where our parents love to “hang out.”
